Other Candidates
Most of the type designs mentioned before clearly fit the mold of a “simplified textura”, but as with most design categories, the borders are rather fuzzy. Type foundries didn’t limit their blackletter releases to just this one category. There were more modern blackletter releases, which may or may not count as simplified textura, depending on who you ask. So, some more releases are mentioned here for the sake of completeness.
Weiß-Gotisch by Rudolf Weiß, 1936, Bauer Type Foundry
Certainly a fresh approach (especially in the caps), but executed in a distinct and more calligraphic way, so it might not suit the simplified textura category perfectly.
Großdeutsch by Herbert Thannhaeuser, 1935, Schelter & Giesecke
Another fresh approach, which is unusually round for the textura category.
Werbedeutsch by Herbert Thannhaeuser, 1933, Schelter & Giesecke
A wide an rather calligraphic textura released in a single style.
Kursachsen, Peterpaul Weiß, 1936, Schriftguß
The design mixes roman and blackletter elements for a modern look.
Chronika by Walter Jacobs, 1936, C.E. Weber.
A somewhat modern textura, but might not be simplified enough to qualify clearly for our selection.
Trump-Deutsch by Georg Trump, 1936, H. Berthold AG
A modern blackletter, but not necessarily rooted in textura letterforms.
